Artist Statement

Someone asked me recently about the birds in my paintings. To me, they represent freedom. Freedom and equality are the ultimate goals of social justice. As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I learned very early about the value of freedom. While I might enjoy privilege now, it isn’t a sure thing. What’s more, I bear responsibility to work with those who are struggling for freedom and social justice today.
